(IE). Any DC electrical work – that is alternative power works like solar and
batteries - may only be signed off by a three-phase Installation Electrician
(IE) or a Master Installation Electrician (MIE). The complete electrical
installation needs to comply with SANS10142-1: 2020 Edition 3
By law, structural roof alterations or installations may only be done under the design and supervision and professional registered civil engineer (Pr Eng) /technician (Pr Tech). Any addition to a roof top adding weight (solar panel) or changing the wind design thereof - may only be signed off by a professional registered civil engineer (Pr Eng) /technician (Pr Tech). The complete installation needs to comply with SANS10400-A.
By law, adding combustible roof materials (PV Panels/DCdeadZone) to your roof top installations may only be done under the design and supervision and professional registered civil engineer (Pr Eng) /technician (Pr Tech). Any addition to a roof top or battery backup system inside the occupation - may only be signed off by a professional registered civil engineer (Pr Eng) /technician (Pr Tech). The complete installation needs to comply with SANS10400-T.
